Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®)

The Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation is achieved through an intensive program that, according to The American College, covers a must-have list of requirements for financial advisors – from knowledge on tax and retirement planning to special needs advising, wealth management, insurance, and more. The courses of the ChFC® program are designed to help financial advisors apply real-world situations to the information they learn in the duration of the course.

Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®)

As a Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®), your advisor is qualified to go over your options of all retirement income and strategies. The RICP® designation will allow your advisor to utilize:

  • Estate planning techniques
  • Portfolio assessment
  • Personal finance best practices
  • Health expense budget creation
  • Home equity strategies

The designation gives your advisor the skills to develop retirement plans that can provide you the peace of mind you need to live your best life during retirement.

Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®)

As a Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), your advisor holds knowledge about the life insurance industry and the process of underwriting. According to The American College, a CLU® certification can give your advisor:

  • In depth knowledge of the life insurance industry underwriting process and life insurance law within the guidelines of overall risk assessment-
  • The necessary knowledge to help clients and investors address their estate planning needs
  • An understanding of personal finance solutions addressing the life insurance underwriting needs of business owners and professionals

With a CLU® designation, your advisor can offer you the best life insurance options for you and your family, and you can trust that our recommendations come only with your best interests in mind.

Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS)

The Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) is an accredited degree that is offered by The American College of Financial Services to a variety of professionals in the financial services industry. The MSFS can also come with a range of concentrations, including retirement planning and legacy planning, so that your advisor can hone their specialization even further to deliver superior knowledge and service to those looking to achieve their financial goals. The American College states that the program includes practical case studies and client/practitioner scenarios so that your advisor can immediately apply the new knowledge to your unique financial situation.

Certified Wealth Strategist® (CWS®)

A Certified Wealth Strategist®, or CWS®, is a certification for professionals working in the affluent and high-net-worth retail market segments in the financial services industry. The organization that offers the designation to advisors – the Cannon Financial Institute – mentions that the designation is based on an established set of industry-wide competencies that cover the concepts, rules, regulations, laws, and standard operating procedures that the candidate should be proficient in affluent and high-net-worth retail market segments.

Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®)

According to the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, “the Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designation means ‘I believe in the team concept of estate planning’ and attainment allows designees to distinguish themselves to clients and among peers as a true member of the team”. There are five requirements to receive an AEP® designation:

  • Education
  • Experience
  • Knowledge
  • Professional reputation
  • Character

Because a designated AEP® needs to dedicate at least 33.3% of their professional time to estate planning, you can trust that our designated AEP® advisors are well-equipped to satisfy all of your estate planning needs.

Certified College Financial Consultant (CCFC)

The Certified College Financial Consultant (CCFC) designation is offered by the American Institute of Certified College Financial Consultants. It is specifically designed to help advisors help their clients develop the best plans and strategies for saving for college or repaying public or private student loans.

  • CCFCs are able to generate revenue by the following methods:
  • Hourly planning
  • Project-based planning (such as financial aid form filings and student loan analysis)
  • Comprehensive financial planning
  • Value added planning (a service that is included in AUM fee and not billed separately)
